Seven million dollars worth of prize money and the title of Dubai Duty Free Irish Open champion are on the line at Lahinch this afternoon
Once more, large crowds are on hand for the final day’s play in this year’s event and organizers say over 20,000 were in attendance there yesterday.
There were also huge crowds on the prom in Lahinch last night, with the festivities continuing long after play had ended.
The event has been hailed as a success, and while this year’s tournament is not yet over, one senior European Tour official has said he’d welcome the opportunity to bring the Irish Open back to Lahinch in the future
Simon Allis, who is the Championship Director of this week’s event, says Lahinch is an ideal venue.
