Construction activity in Clare slumped dramatically in May.
The Department of Housing’s latest commencements report shows residential building work returned to normal levels last month.

Construction began on just 27 homes in Clare across the month of May.
It marks a 66% drop from the 80 homes commenced here in April.
Throughout May, building works began on 19 one-off houses in this county and a further 8 units in housing estates.
It’s the second-lowest number of homes commenced monthly in Clare this year, which is contrast to the national picture.
Across the country, works began on 2,099 homes in Many, up 105% on this time last year.
