A major push is underway to establish a new childcare facility in Clare’s second largest town.
There are currently 11 service providers in Shannon, however in a new survey, just five say they’re likely to continue operating into the future.

Additionally waiting lists for childcare spaces in the town are now between six months and four years.
The Shannon Community Partnership has held a public meeting on the matter this morning and its Vice Chair Don O’Sullivan says they want to hear from anyone who can help.
