The average cost of purchasing a home in Clare has increased by over €26,000 in the last year.
New CSO figures show there were over 50 residential property transactions in this county in March.
The average sum needed to purchase a home in Clare in March was €283,396 according to the latest Residential Property Price Index, which is up almost €4,000 on the figure for February.
When compared to this time last year, however, there has been a significant rise in prices, with the average cost of a Clare home in March 2025 coming in at €257,233, over €26,000 lower.
In the Ennis eircode area, the average cost is up €8,500 in the last year to a sum of €331,903.
In West Clare, there’s been a 27% increase in property prices rising from an average of €181,000 in March 2025 to €231,286 this year, a jump of just over €50,000.
Prices rose by almost €20,000 in the Shannon area and are now coming in at an average cost of €287,000 for a home.
Across Clare there were 54 property transactions this March, with 18 of these going to first time buyers.
