Plans have been submitted for a new onshore wind energy project in West Clare.
Slievenalicka Locally Owned Turbine Ltd is proposing to build a single turbine of up to 150m in height across the townlands of Tooreen, Slievenalicka and Drumbaun.

The permission is being sought for a period of at least ten years.
In a letter to Clare County Council, submitted on behalf of the applicant, Gavin & Doherty Geosolutions say the development is necessary to prevent any shocks to the national energy system.
