A new offshore development planned for Clare is being described as a potential turning point for Ireland’s renewable future.
It comes as ESB and Simply Blue have announced a joint venture to deliver a pioneering 5 Mega-Watt wave farm array, adjacent to this county’s coast.

The pre-commercial demonstration known as ‘Saoirse’ will be subject to the necessary consents and a grid connection, and if approved the project is on target to be completed by the mid to late 2020s.
