Over €500,000 In Parking Fees Collected In Lahinch Since Start Of 2024

Clare County Council has taken in over €500,000 through parking charges and fines in Lahinch in the last three years.

New figures show more than €280,000 was collected in the north Clare town in 2025 alone.

At the May meeting of the West Clare Municipal District, Fine Gael Councillor Bill Slattery has requested a breakdown of income generated from parking in Lahinch since the start of 2024.

This includes charges and fines paid for parking in the promenade car park as well as the Liscannor Road car park.

In 2024, a total of €288,399 was collected, over €225,000 of which was through regular charges, with fines accounting for the remainder.

Last year, income rose to €281,514, almost €10,000 of which came in through penalties.

In the opening three months of 2026 meanwhile, €34,121 was taken in, with fines amounting to €710.

This means from January 2024 to March 2026, Clare County Council’s income generated from parking in Lahinch stands at €544,034.
