Clare’s Age Friendly Ambassador says it’s vital that older people are given a sense that they’re not alone or forgotten.
It comes ahead of the Annual National Age Friendly Recognition and Achievement Awards, which showcase age friendly initiatives contributing to making Ireland a great place to grow older.

Organisations, individuals and communities can submit applications for projects or programmes they believe are age friendly, particularly initiatives supporting older people, until June 5th.
Stockton’s Wing singer-songwriter Mike Hanrahan says people have to be able to maintain agency in their lives and community organisations supporting that play an important role.
