Nurses Say Trolley Numbers Have Jumped At UHL After Easter

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital has jumped in the week following the Easter bank holiday.

The latest trolleywatch analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 119 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick today, more than double the next busiest facility.

The figure represents almost a fifth of all patients left waiting for beds at hospitals across the country today.

The INMO says the level of overcrowding in Irish hospitals this week has been extremely concerning and that no part of the country seems to be immune from high levels of activity.
