No Nursing Or General Support Workers In Clare Children’s Disability Network Teams

There’s currently no one working in nursing or general support in either of Clare’s Children’s Disability Network Teams.

New data which has come to light at the latest meeting of the HSE Regional Health Forum Midwest has revealed significant recruitment issues in both of the county’s CDNTs, with the East Clare team have a vacancy rate of 20%.

The figures shows the HSE-run Children’s Disability Network Teams in East Clare and West Clare have vacancy rates of 20% and 16%, respectively.

In East Clare, a further 19% of staff are on leave, while in West Clare, 15% are on leave.

It’s also been revealed that the whole time equivalent figure in the East Clare CDNT is 9.2 for health and social care professionals, one for management and two for administration.

The team has no staff in the areas of nursing, patient and client care, or general support.

Turning to the West Clare CDNT, the whole time equivalent figure is 17.9 for health and social care professionals, two for patient and client care, one for management and 1.8 for administration.

This CDNT doesn’t currently have anyone working in nursing or general support.

HSE Midwest says “all CDNT teams are actively engaged in the recruitment process, however they are all challenged with recruitment and retention”.
