The president of a Midwest university is praising this year’s graduates for the fortitude they showed throughout the pandemic.
This week, Mary Immaculate College Limerick will see almost 2,000 students conferred with academic awards across the college’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education and liberal arts.
Among those graduating are Clare footballer Cillian Brennan and Meelick native Lorna Murphy who’ll both be receiving doctoral awards for their research.
MIC President Professor Eugene Wall says because most of the graduates began their studies during the pandemic, their achievement is made all the more significant.
