An Austrian Airlines flight has diverted to Shannon Airport following a medical emergency.
The Boeing 777 was en route from Vienna to JFK in New York this afternoon, when crew requested an emergency landing.
The flight landed safety, shortly before two o'clock, and was met at the terminal by National Ambulance Service paramedics and airport personnel.
An elderly woman was assessed before being taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
The flight has since resumed its journey.
