The Mayor of Clare claims it’s not necessarily the end of the line for several controversial developments in the county town.
A variation to the Clare County Development Plan has been proposed which would see 1,280 acres identified for residential use.

The amendment would also see the Ennis 2040 projects on the Abbey Street and Harvey’s Quay carparks as well as the planned Post Office Field walkway scrapped for the time being at least.
