A 39 year old Tipperary man has lost an appeal against his 8 year long sentence for a violent sexual assault on a teenage girl, who has since died.

Noel Holland of Clarkes Flats, Main Street, Templemore was jailed at the Central Criminal Court 2 years ago after admitting that he had attacked the girl at his flat in February 2009.
The court of criminal appeal called the offence a ‘serious sexual assault’ involving threats and violence, and upheld his 8-year sentence as appropriate.
