The Clare national school which has enrolled one of the highest proportions of Ukrainian Refugees in the country, is marking three years since accepting its first pupil from the war-torn state.
Lisdoonvarna National School now has 135 children on its roll books, with significant growth since 2022.

The school favours an inclusion rather than integration model and now many of its new arrivals are playing Gaelic Games and speaking Irish on a daily basis.
Speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, Principal at St Enda’s National School Brian Carty says the welcoming approach has been driven by the students.
