The Ennis-based inaugural Director of Human Rights, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at UL says equality and inclusion policies must be backed by leadership from the top to become part of an organisation’s culture.
Her comments come as 23 independent radio stations across Ireland come together today as part of One Day, Many Voices, an initiative by Learning Waves Skillnet.
The initiative puts diverse voices, experiences and perspectives at the centre of local radio, with stations, including Clare FM, sharing stories of equality and inclusion through interviews, music, community stories and conversation.
Dr Marie Connolly says lived experiences are vital to creating more equal and inclusive communities.
