Laypeople are reportedly becoming an increasingly integral part of services within the Catholic Church in North Clare.

A meeting of clergy and diocesan staff has been held in the area recently to discuss new approaches to parish life.

Father Rob McNamara now serves both Lisdoonvarna and Ennistymon meaning he covers seven churches across the area.

He says the majority of people understand the level of pressure the church is under.
