Labour Asked To Back Debt-Free Shannon Airport

The Labour Party is to consider a motion on the future of Shannon Airport at it’s annual conference which gets underway in Galway later today

The party’s national membership is being urged to back calls for Clare’s international airport to remain in public ownership, that it be given a sufficient operational and promotional budget and that it be declared debt free, should it be seperated from the DAA.

It comes ahead of a decision on Shannon’s future by Fine Gael Transport Minister Leo Varadkar in the coming weeks.
