Clare has a new World Record holder.
The attempt to knit the World’s Largest Ever Knitted Blanket, which was led by Inagh-based Valery Larkin, has been successful after she received confirmation that it has been ratified by the team behind the Guinness Book of World Records.

The blanket covered just under 2,000 square metres when it was measured at the Showgrounds in Ennis last month, and came after Valery had spent 19 months collecting knitted contributions from all over the world.
