The President of LIT says a new partnership with Universities across the EU will have immediate benefits for students here in Clare.
Limerick Institute of Technology along with three local authorities in the Midwest, have signed a memorandum of understanding that will pave the way for the formation of the European Zone for Inter-Regional Development.
It means students at LIT’s campus’ including in Ennis will have access to research at Universities across Europe, which its hoped will allow higher education institutes and regional governments to drive innovation.
President of LIT Vincent Cunnane says it will have a significant impact.
LIT will be working in partnership with Clare County Council.
Director of Economic Development, Liam Conneally says it will also result in big benefits for local companies.
