Hope has been expressed that a new campus for the Shannon College of Hotel Management will help establish both the industrial town and the wider county as a university location.
Founded in 1951 by Brendan O’Regan, the college has grown into a world-renowned school and now forms part of University of Galway, with a distinctive place in Irish and global hospitality education.
This week, Shannon College of Hotel Management held an event marking its 75th anniversary, centred around the launch of an ambitious new vision for its future, including plans for a new purpose-built, state-of-the-art learning facility.
Head of the college, Adrian Sylver, says he hopes the local community will get behind the project.
