Yesterday, Barnardos criticised the coalition for not seeing the urgent need to address families being put up in unsuitable accommodation.
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny accepted that something needed to be done – and confirmed that the issue would dominate Cabinet this morning, with the housing Minister Jan O'Sullivan expected to brief ministers on her plans.
There are over 3,000 people on the housing waiting list in Clare.
