Historic North Clare Cathedral Receives Funding Boost For Conservation Works

More than 92,000 euro in Government funding has been granted for essential conservation works at a historic Cathedral in North Clare.

Clare Minister of State Timmy Dooley has confirmed that St Fachnan’s Cathedral in Kilfenora will receive 92,271 euro under the Government’s Community Monuments Fund for 2026.

The investment forms part of a wider €8 million national programme supporting 104 heritage projects across the country, aimed at safeguarding Ireland’s archaeological monuments and improving public access to them.
