Search and rescue helicopters have joined an extensive operation along the Clare-Limerick border, as searches for a Clonlara student missing for nearly 36 hours continue.

Steven Kavanagh was last seen in the Clonlara area in the early hours of yesterday morning, and a land and water search has been carried out between Ardnacrusha and Clonlara, beginning last night.
Students from Steven's college LIT and other local volunteers have joined Gardaí, Limerick Search and Rescue and the Killaloe Coast Guard.
The 21-year old is described as being 5 foot ten in height, with tight brown hair and of a slight build, and was wearing blue jeans and a blue Limerick FC jacket with black runners when he was last seen.
