Heaney to Attend Merriman Summer School

Nobel laureate Seamus Heaney is to take part in an evening of poetry in Lisdoonvarna next month, as part of the annual Merriman Summer School.

The 1995 Nobel Prize winner is among those who will take part in the event, which this year focusses on politics, society and culture in the fifteen years since the Good Friday Agreement.

Fianna Fail leader Micheál Martin is also among the speakers at the event, along with Church of Ireland primate Archbishop Richard Clarke, Alliance East Belfast MP Naomi Long and MEP Marian Harkin.

The event runs from Wednesday 14th August to Sunday 18th.
