The Head of the Clare Garda Division says an increase in car thefts, particularly in areas popular with tourists is giving visitors a bad impression of the county.

252 thefts from cars were reported in the first nine months of this year, an increase of 73 on the same period last year.
A considerable number of these thefts took place in the popular tourist destinations of the Cliffs of Moher, Ballyvaughan and Cratloe.
