Harrington, McKibbin And Power Confirmed For Amgen Irish Open In Doonbeg

Pádraig Harrington, Tom McKibbin and Séamus Power will strengthen the home charge when they return to Ireland for the Amgen Irish Open in West Clare.

The Irish trio will join defending champion Rory McIlory and past winner Shane Lowry when a world-class field gathers at Trump International Golf Links in Doonbeg, for the first time this autumn.

Three-time Major Champion and World Golf Hall of Fame inductee Pádraig Harrington will mark his 31st consecutive appearance at this year’s prestigious event, which takes place from September 9th to 13th.

Harrington officially opened the Doonbeg venue more than two decades ago and was among the first to play the course in an exhibition match against original designer Greg Norman in 2002.

Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin will tee it up for a fifth Amgen Irish Open, having recorded a top 20 finish at last year’s tournament.

The 23-year-old, who became the youngest winner from the island of Ireland since McIlroy when he triumphed at the 2023 European Open on what was his 26th start, will hope to continue his climb in Clare this autumn.

Two-time PGA TOUR winner Seamus Power, now regarded one of Ireland’s most consistent performers on the global stage, will make a seventh appearance at his national open.

The Waterford native will be looking to add his name to the distinguished list of Amgen Irish Open champions and claim his maiden DP World Tour title in front of home crowds.

The Amgen Irish Open once again assumes a key position on the DP World Tour’s Global Schedule as part of the ‘Back 9’, which encompasses nine of the Tour’s most historic tournaments and national opens.
