The first of two funerals of the Clare teenage sweethearts who lost their lives in a road crash is taking place today.
19-year-old Gary Kelly from Ennis passed away on Friday night following a head-on collision in Limerick, while his girlfriend of five years, Delia Keary, of Crusheen, died from her injuries on Sunday.
Gary will be laid to rest in Drumcliffe Cemetery, following 11 o’clock mass in Ennis Cathedral.
He’s survived by his mother Kim, father Shane and brothers Dylan and Ross.
Gary was an apprentice at O’Keefe’s Electrical in Ennis and his Supervisor John O’Callaghan says he’ll be sadly missed, while colleague Shane O’Rourke says his death came as a shock to the entire company:
Gary’s girlfriend Delia Keary will be laid to rest tomorrow in Kilawinna Cemetery, following 12 o’clock funeral mass in St Joseph’s Church, Ennis.
She’s survived by her mother Rosie Gilboy.
