A renewed appeal’s been launched for information on the 21st anniversary of the murder of a young woman in North Clare.
The body of Emer O’Loughlin was found in a burnt out caravan on April 8th 2005.
The death of 23 year old Emer O’Loughlin was originally thought to have been an accident.
Her body was found inside a caravan on land at Ballybornagh, Tubber in Co. Clare which had been completely destroyed by fire.
It was close to where Emer lived with her boyfriend at the time.
However in May 2010 – 5 years after her death – Emer’s body was exhumed and forensic anthropology tests confirmed she’d suffered a violent death – and a murder investigation was launched.
Now on the 21st anniversary of her killing Gardai have issued a new appeal, asking the public if they have any piece of information which may be relevant to their investigation to bring it forward.
They say Emer’s family are still struggling to come to terms with her loss, and are hoping someone can help bring them closure and justice.
Anyone with information can contact Gort Garda Station on 091 636400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
