A team of Clare Gardaí will go head to head with former county football legends this weekend, in an effort to raise funds for families of children with serious and life-changing illnesses.
A charity match taking place at Éire Óg in Ennis from 2pm on Sunday will see the Clare Garda Football Team take on Clare Masters in aid of the Little Blue Heroes Foundation, which is a voluntary service run by serving and retired Garda members.
The foundation provides both practical and financial assistance to families, but also aims to bring joy and normalcy to the lives of sick children by granting their “wish” to become an “Honorary Garda.”
Ennis-based Garda Cathal O’Gorman, who’s involved with the Clare Garda Football team says it’s the goal of An Garda Síochána to do their “best for the community”.
