A Garda investigation is underway following an assault in south-east Clare.
Emergency services were alerted in the early hours of Saturday morning after a man was involved in an altercation in Shannonbridge at around 1am.

He was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick for treatment for a facial injury.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or who may have information about the incident, to contact Killaloe Gardaí on 061 620 540.
