Clare Whiskey Curator Claims Exports Freed Up Following Removal Of 10% ‘Trade Barrier’

A Clare whiskey curator says exports will free up again, following Donald Trump’s decision to remove an ‘inordinate barrier’ to trade on the industry.

Ahead of presenting the Irish Open trophy at his Doonbeg resort, The US President announced that he would discontinue the 10% tariff on all Irish whiskey exports.

Before he boarded Air Force One, Donald Trump confirmed the exemption would apply solely to Ireland, and not the rest of the European Union.

Founder and CEO of JJ Corry Irish Whiskey in Cooraclare, Louise McGuane, says the announcement is the result of hard lobbying.
