Fresh calls have been made in Clare for the total abolition of hospital car parking charges.
It comes as the HSE has ordered a review of the charges, after €73 million was raised nationally from car park fees since 2020.

Figures released last month by the Health Service Executive revealed that annual parking revenue at University Hospital Limerick jumped by 200% between 2021 and 2025, to €1.44 million.
HSE Regional Health Forum Midwest member and Shannonbanks Sinn Féin Councillor James Ryan isn’t optimistic the review will lead to meaningful change.
