Former Clare Senator Vows Continue Volunteering Efforts Following Trip To Mongolia

A former Clare senator says she is more appreciative for the amenities taken for granted in Ireland after returning from a six week volunteering stint in Mongolia.

Róisín Garvey travelled to capital city, Ulaanbaatar, to work with NGO Keeping Families Together.

During her time in the East Asian nation, the Inagh native took on the role of Solar Project Manager, hoping to provide greater access to water for villages with longstanding issues connecting to the electrical grid.

The Green Party Deputy Leader says she plans to secure extra funding for the project in the coming months.
