The ESB is reminding people of the dangers and potentially serious consequences of swimming in its Arndnacrusha reservoir.
Given the recent spell of warm weather ahead of the June bank holiday weekend, the utility is urging people to take note of safety warnings which are visible on signs posted around the South East Clare reservoir.
It says the area is unsafe for swimming due to deep, fast-flowing waters, fluctuating water levels, and uneven terrain, which present significant hazards to the public.
ESB says to ensure your safety and the safety of others, people should always choose safer swimming locations such as swimming pools or beaches with designated lifeguards.
