A North Clare employee was duped into buying one thousand euro worth of Apple gift cards by someone they believed to be their boss.
Gardaí are investigating a fraud in the Ennistymon area after an employee received an email appearing to be from their boss, asking them to purchase the gift cards.

The employee did so, but later discovered that the email had not come from their boss and that the money on the cards had already been spent.
Gardaí are urging people not to share financial details by email and to always double-check requests for money, even if they appear to come from someone they know.
