The Ennis brothers charged in connection with the death of a Polish man in the town are due back in court today.
Michael Maughan of 20, Stone Court, Ennis is accused of Piotr Nowakowski’s murder at Sandfield Mews on Tuesday morning.
His 21 year old brother Darren Maughan is also due back in court on a charge of assaulting another man at the same address.
39 year old Michael Maughan appeared briefly before the district Court in Ennis on Wednesday evening to face a charge of murdering Piotr Nowakowski at 15 Sandfield Mews.
A 31 year old Polish National – Mr Nowakowski had been living in Shannon for a number of years and recently had been staying in Ennis – he lost his life from stab wounds following Tuesday morning’s incident in the appartment close to Ennis General Hospital.
Michael Maughan’s 21 year old brother Darren, also of 20 Stone Court is charged with assaulting another man, Declan O’Dea in the same incident at Sandfield Mews.
The Maughan brothers are both in prison custody and are expected to face a further remand when they’re brought back to court this morning.
