Doolin Ferry Company Owner Doesn’t Believe Tourism Numbers Will Hit Pre-Pandemic Levels This Summer

The owner of the Doolin Ferry Company doesn’t believe international tourism numbers in Clare will hit pre-pandemic levels this summer.

It comes as the North Clare firm has set sail once again for the summer season, with 20 sailings to the Aran Islands being offered each day.

Passenger numbers at Shannon Airport reached more than half of 2019 levels in the final quarter of last year.

However, Doolin Ferry Company owner Liam O’ Brien says while these figures might not be hit this summer, tourism trends are returning.
