The Doolin Community Council claims the recent prevalence of littering in the area is posing a serious threat to its tourism product.
Doolin Pier was downgraded to “littered” in the latest IBAL report, with inspectors identifying a heavy presence of discarded coffee cups, as well as glass, plastics and cigarettes at the car park and stony areas of the popular amenity

Clare County Council currently operates a daily waste collection service at the pier.
However with over one million tourists descending on the North Clare village each year, Doolin Community Council Secretary, Julia Stringer says the absence of public pins is inexcusable.
