Shannon Heritage Workers “Won’t Breathe Easily” Until The Dotted Line Is Signed

Shannon Heritage workers say they won’t be able to breathe easily, until the dotted line is signed on a proposed government funding package aimed at facilitating the takeover of Clare assets by the local authority.

The Council is expected to approve a €6m deal facilitating the transfer of Bunratty Castle & Folk Park, Knappogue Castle, Craggaunowen and the Cliffs of Moher Gift Shop, which comes with a commitment of further funding by the OPW over the next three years.

Discussions between Clare County Council, Shannon Airport Group & The Department Of Transport will continue over the coming days, with Councillors due to make a decision on whether to accept the deal, following a meeting on Monday.
