Coillte says it’s liaising with the gardaí in relation to unauthorised camping at an East Clare beauty spot.
The semi-state forestry body has confirmed camping isn’t permitted in the vicinity of the Cahermurphy Loop and the White Sands on the banks of Lough Graney in Flagmount.

It says it’s aware of groups illegally camping at the location and says it will “continue to liaise closely with gardaí to address any breaches of Coillte bylaws”.
Local Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes believes it’s a potential fire risk.
