Ennis Student Develops At-Home Cervical Screening Concept

An Ennis student has created a way for women to access cervical screening from the comfort of their own homes.

Emilia Janik has developed REALA – an at-home cervical screening concept combining a reusable screening device with a digital app.

Designed as a final year project, it aims to offer clear, stigma-free information on cervical health, HPV and preventative care.

Emilia says she was inspired to progress the idea when she realised how difficult it is for women to get information on the subject.
