It follows months of speculation with Senators Tony Mulcahy and Martin Conway both expressing their wish to run as the party's third candidate.
The leas Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council joins sitting TD's Pat Breen and Joe Carey on the party ballot.
It brings to 12 the number of candidates running in the Clare Constituency so far.
