Clare Tourism Advisory Forum Claims County Can’t Compete With 13.5% Vat Rate

The Vice-Chair of the Clare Tourism Advisory Forum believes businesses across the country will be forced into closure if the lower hospitality VAT rate is not reinstated.

The higher 13.5% rate was reintroduced on Friday after having been held at 9% since November of 2020 to mitigate the loss of earnings for hospitality providers during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
