Clare’s Oireactas members are to seek the reversal of a number of amendments to the county development plan.
Last month, Minister of State for planning , Kieran O’Donnell issued a direction which overruled the construction of homes on national secondary roads, whilst also rezoning twenty areas previously designated for residential use.

However following a special meeting of the local authority yesterday afternoon, Clare’s attending Oireachtas members have pledged to serve a deadline for the Minister to overturn the decisions, or the matter could face a vote in the Dáíl or Seanad chamber.
Lissycasey Fianna Fáíl Councillor PJ Kelly, who initially raised the issue is confident common sense will prevail.
