A Clare lifeboat service is urging the public to play their part in keeping its operations afloat this May.
The RNLI’s Mayday Mile is an initiative for which participants can walk, run, swim or cycle a day in the month of May, with all funds raised going to the charity.

The service launched its lifeboats on 967 occasions in 2025, including 17 times on Lough Derg, saving 912 lives nationwide.
Lough Derg RNLI Lifeboat Press Officer Dr Eleanor Hooker says the money will support the vital work of the volunteers and lifeboat crews.
