The Clare Chair of the IFA has hit out the Agriculture Minister saying the €4.25 million fodder import scheme should have been introduced months ago.
Minister Michael Creed yesterday announced the measure to help alleviate the cost of buying in feed from abroad, following a difficult year to date in farming.

But the IFA is concerned that this won’t go far enough and they want to see a low-cost loan system introduced simultaneously, so that farmers have the cash flow to buy imported fodder.
