A Clare volunteer has been forced to cancel a humanitarian mission to Uganda due to the Ebola outbreak.
John Conroy was due to travel to the East African nation next month to support a local hospice, to help children in a local school and to coach Gaelic football to members of the Nile Óg Cusack’s club, which he founded two years ago.

An outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in May has since spread to Uganda and has so far claimed at least two lives.
The New Quay native says health and safety had to be prioritised.
