Clare Hotelier Disappointed With Inter-County Travel Restrictions

A Clare Hotelier has expressed disappointment with the government’s plan to exit Level 5 COVID-19 restrictions.

The country is set to revert to Level 3 with restrictions with modifications from tomorrow, with non-essential retail reopening and pubs that serve food and hotels reopening on Friday.

Intercounty travel will not be allowed until December 18th but the Irish Hotels Federation says this means there is little difference between Levels 3 and 5 for hotels, as business within their own county typically only amounts to 10% of total business.

Owner of Hotel Woodstock in Ennis and IHF member, Sean Lally says some hotels may not reopen until December 18th as a result.
