Clare Homeless Figures Down Marginally In April

The number of adults accessing emergency accommodation in Clare has decreased marginally in the last month.

The latest report from the Department of Housing reveals almost 100 adults here were homeless in April.

There are now 17,548 homeless people nationally, including 5,604 homeless children.

The most recent homelessness report reveals a total of 97 adults were residing in emergency accommodation in Clare between April 20th and 26th.

This figure is down three from the previous month.

Across the Midwest, a total of 730 adults were homeless in the week in question.

The report also notes 341 children in Clare or Limerick were in emergency accommodation, revealing a decrease of six from March.

The Midwest region makes up just over 6% of the total number of registered homeless people nationwide.
